Pastor Spence grew up in the Church of Christ. Through the ministry of a Christian school, he came to understand that salvation was by faith alone in the person and work of Jesus Christ. As a Jr. High student, he came under conviction of his guilt before God and prayed to receive Christ as his Savior. In his senior year of high school, the Lord began impressing upon his heart the call to full-time ministry.

Pastor Spence graduated from Bob Jones University with a Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Studies in 1980. He met his life’s partner as a student. They were married that summer. Pastor and Susie have two daughters and four grandchildren. In 1987, he completed a Master’s degree in Pastoral Studies as well.

He has over 30 years of pastoral experience. He and his wife Susie were delighted to be led to Grace Bible Church in December of 2007. He believes strongly in the centrality of God’s Word for addressing the spiritual needs of God’s people. The pulpit ministry and personal discipleship are the keys to the training of the congregation for the work of the ministry.
